The Cockpit Association will move into the Tui AG Supervisory Board with two representatives. Tanja VIehl and Andreas Barczewski were elected to the supervisory body as employee representatives on October 8, 2020. For the first time, VC holds two mandates on the supervisory board of the world's largest tourism group.

“The election is an important milestone for us and the employees,” says VC lawyer and top candidate Tanja Viehl. “I would like to justify your trust by standing up for their interests as the representative of all around 70.000 Group employees on the Supervisory Board. We will put the preservation of jobs at the center of all considerations. Ultimately, government loans ensured the survival of the Tui. Taxpayers as well as employees rightly expect jobs to be protected. "

The Supervisory Board is made up of 10 shareholder and 10 employee representatives. For the employee bank, in turn, three seats are allocated to the unions represented in the group.

“The fact that with Tanja Viehl and Andreas Barczewski two seats from the ranks of the VC on the influential TUI supervisory board can be filled for the first time is an expression of recognition for the years of competent work of the teams in which our candidates have participated. At the same time, it is an obligation for us as VC to tackle the challenges that are at the door together with many decision-makers and with the greatest possible commitment. For us, the focus is on cooperation. All employee representatives must fight together on the supervisory board for the interests of all employees, ”said VC President Markus Wahl.
