The pilots of Lufthansa want to make 350 million euros as a voluntary crisis contribution, but so far the Cockpit Association has not received an answer. There will be a summit on Thursday.

The pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit confirms the offer submitted at the end of April in a broadcast. Accordingly, the pilots are ready to forego around 350 million euros in salary payments to keep the crane in the air. A second collective bargaining summit is to take place on Thursday.

“More than a month ago, VC put a package worth almost 350 million euros on the table that the group's board of directors has not yet accepted. In view of this substantial offer, the VC expects that with this contribution, upcoming projects will be approached in partnership. Using this contribution to outsource jobs to poorer conditions is completely unacceptable, ”said the Cockpit Association in a broadcast.

“We want to keep the crane in the air. Because of the existing difficulties, we are ready to implement our package in the scope offered and without further conditions initially by the end of 2020. ”says Markus Wahl, President of the Cockpit Association.
