Verdi strike: Stuttgart also expects failures

For Friday, February 17, 2023, 162 regular flight movements have been registered from Stuttgart. Whether these can all be carried out is completely open, because the Verdi union is also calling on workers in three occupational groups to go on strike at this airport.

In addition to the ground handling services, the employees at the passenger security check should also take part in the strike. Passengers must therefore expect operational disruptions and delays or flight cancellations on Friday.

Passengers who have booked a flight for Friday are advised to check their flight status and allow more time for travel. The airport regrets the restrictions that the strike will impose on passengers.

In the current collective bargaining round, the Verdi services union is demanding 10,5 percent more salary for federal and local employees, but at least 500 euros more per month for a period of twelve months. At a total of seven German airports, the union called on its members to go on a walkout on Friday, February 17, 2023.
