The management of the Tuifly holiday airline and the Vereinigung Cockpit union have been at loggerheads for a long time. The employee representatives have now canceled the so-called collective wage agreement and accuse the management of repeatedly violating a so-called protocol note.

In the course of the corona pandemic, the group management of Tui AG decided to permanently reduce the fleet of Tuifly Germany. This was almost halved. The long-haul project that was planned from Düsseldorf was canceled before the first flight. In the course of downsizing the carrier, numerous jobs were cut, but a court declared this to be inadmissible in some cases.

In a letter reported by the German specialist portal Airliners.de, the pilots' union accuses the Tuifly management of numerous violations. For example, it is claimed that information requirements or procedures for the reinstatement of terminated pilots would not have been complied with. The Cockpit Association has repeatedly "admonished" this, but without success. The consequence of this: You make use of a special right of termination that is contained in the collective agreement and terminate it.

The airline concerned does not yet want to comment on the content. It is pointed out that the letter is currently being analyzed and internally discussed how to proceed. It is therefore necessary to wait and see whether the management of Tuifly will accept the termination or whether the legal remedies provided for such cases will be filed.
