Shooting for the cinema production “Very Best Ager” with the actors Iris Berben and Heiner Lauterbach has been completed in Vienna. The film was supported by the City of Vienna as part of the Vienna Film Incentive – a program that attracts international productions and specifically strengthens Vienna as a film location.
This funding project, in which the City of Vienna is investing a total of two million euros, aims to promote the local economy and Vienna's international reputation. The filming of "Very Best Ager" took place in prominent locations such as the Albertina, the Café Alt Wien and the Danube Canal, emphasizing Vienna's attractiveness as a filming location.
The Vienna Film Incentive has already supported productions such as "Fountain of Youth" by British director Guy Ritchie and Netflix productions such as "The Recruit". The city's film commission reported that filming volumes have consolidated after the pandemic, which underlines the importance of the film sector for Vienna. According to Vienna Tourist Board, one in ten visitors to Vienna is attracted to the city by films, which further highlights the tourist importance of such projects.
