Vietnam Airlines is auctioning eleven A321s

Vietnam Airlines is looking for buyers for a total of eleven Airbus A321 aircraft in an auction. These are so-called Ceo models. The state airline wants to use the sales proceeds to improve its cash holdings.

The younger A321neo models are not affected. There are currently 20 of these. The withdrawal of the older Airbus A321ceo was planned a long time ago and was only accelerated by the corona pandemic. They currently have 49 A321ceo, although the vast majority are still not in use. The background to this is the corona pandemic.

Vietnam Airlines most recently posted a quarterly loss of $ 216 million. Last year, the shortfall was around $ 620 million. The state airline is nevertheless optimistic and expects the industry to recover quickly. Most recently, however, the government imposed one renewed entry ban.
