Virgin Atlantic airline will not return to London Gatwick Airport this year. Initially, the focus will be on the offer from the larger Heathrow Airport.
Company boss Shai Weiss explained, among other things, that the Gatwick plans for 2022 had been postponed. In the past, interesting routes were offered from this airport for vacationers. However, one wants to keep the slots and also sees potential for a comeback in Gatwick, but this should not take place this year.
At the beginning of the corona pandemic, Virgin Atlantic ceased flight operations from this British airport after more than 35 years. Since then, the focus has been on the offer from Heathrow. A comeback for 2023 is at least not completely ruled out, but this is also described as the "earliest possible time".
