The Spanish low-cost airline Volotea has been fleeing used Airbus A320s since this year. A total of 15 copies have been secured. But it does not stop there, because five more were organized that were previously used by Air Asia.

In winter, Volotea surprised everyone by expanding its fleet by 15 Airbus A320s. The sub-fleet now consists of 13 units. The low-cost airline has already secured five more copies, so that it will operate 20 machines of this type in the future. Without exception, they are used leasing aircraft.

Volotea is currently bridging the “shortage” of Airbus A320s with the help of wet lease aircraft. Smartlynx and Smartlynx Malta are currently in use with a total of six planes for the Spanish low-cost airline. It is the A320 with the registrations YL-LCS, 9H-SLD, 9H-SLE, 9H-SLH, 9H-SLI and 9H-SLK.

The following Airbus A320s are new to our fleet: EC-NOQ (ex PK-AXF), EC-NOR (ex PK-AXI), EC-NOS (ex PK-AXJ), EC-NOY (ex 9M-AFB) and EC -NON (ex HS-ABG). The aircraft mentioned were operated until recently by Air Asia (Malaysia), Air Asia Indonesia and Thai Air Asia and are to be handed over to Volotea via the respective lessors in the course of the year.
