In April 2020, Volotea will put the first Airbus A320 into line service. This type of aircraft will initially be used on 2021 routes in the 61 summer flight schedule. The carrier wants to station the newcomers primarily in Italy.

The first two medium-haul jets of this type are meeting the registrations EC-NNZ and EC-NNY. These are used aircraft. According to the company, these will initially be used mainly from Italy. However, routes such as Palma de Mallorca-Lyon or Nice-Luxembourg are also planned as part of the circuits.

For many years the backbone of the Volotea fleet was the Boeing 717. It was the last European operator of this type. beginning of the year the last units were separated. The reloading to Airbus planes was initiated some time ago. So far, the A319 was in the fleet. Without any major communication, the Spanish low-cost airline organized this year first used A320.
