The Spanish low-cost airline needs fresh money, which they want to raise from Spanish banks in the form of loans. Nevertheless, the company management sees the carrier well positioned for the future.
Volotea is reportedly looking to increase its financial resources. In addition, the Spanish low-cost airline would be in negotiations with various national financial institutions, such as ch-aviation.com reported. Banks such as Santander, BBVA or Sabadell could inject up to 112 million US dollars into the airline to deal with the crisis.
After a break of almost 90 days, the airline resumed flight operations a week ago. Despite Corona, the company has a positive outlook for the future: "We are confident that we will be able to fill our planes to 90 percent in July and August," said co-founder Carlos Muños. In the next two months alone, they want to fly to 274 destinations.
