BER opened on October 31. The euphoria only lasts for a short time, because Corona is bringing the airport back down to earth. In the first month after the Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport opened, a total of 213.000 passengers took off or landed.
Compared to the previous month of October, the number of passengers at BER fell again in November. In October 2020, the two airports Schönefeld and Tegel recorded a total of 581.322 passengers. One reason for the currently dramatically low level is the global aviation crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The cargo volume increased slightly by 120 tons compared to the previous month. In November 2020, around 1.900 tons of air freight were moved at BER. Compared to the same month last year, the volume of air freight fell by 39,5 percent.
