Weeze celebrates 30 million passengers

The German airport Weeze recently welcomed the 30 millionth passenger since the start of flight operations as a civilian airport. The Dutchwoman was welcomed on a Ryanair flight last Wednesday and presented with two flight vouchers.

“The fact that we have already welcomed 30 million passengers shows the high level of acceptance of our airport. Our customers appreciate the advantages of a stress-free and easily accessible airport and, of course, the attractive range of flights offered by Ryanair and other airlines," says Sebastian Papst, Managing Director at Weeze Airport.

Niederrhein Airport started commercial flight operations on May 1, 2003. The low-cost airline Ryanair has been active there since the year mentioned and occasionally markets this airport as "Düsseldorf". Around 200.000 passengers took off and landed in the first year of operation.
