Weeze has already surpassed the previous year's figures

The German regional airport Weeze was able to exceed the previous year's volume on Monday, August 21, 2023. To date, the airport has been used by 1.037.269 travelers.

Management attributes this circumstance to the fact that Ryanair has expanded its offering and that other carriers have settled there, including Air Arabia Maroc and Sky Express. From the beginning of the year to July, the airport on the Lower Rhine recorded a 51 percent increase in passengers.

Airport boss Sebastian Papst said: "We are delighted that we were able to exceed the 1 million year-end result for '22 after just 7 1/2 months. The wide and inexpensive range of flights combined with the advantages of a manageable, regional airport - this is increasingly well received by our international guests." Papst expects around 1,4 million passengers by the end of the year.
