During the 2022 summer holidays, the private railway company Westbahn will be issuing a network card for young people, which is available in two versions. People under the age of 20 can travel for 20 days for one euro per day. Under 26-year-olds pay two euros per day.

The sale of the so-called "summer hit ticket" started on Tuesday online and at the ticket counters in Vienna-Westbahnhof, Linz Hbf, Salzburg Hbf and Munich Hbf. According to Westbahn, the start of validity can be freely selected between July 2nd and September 11th, 2022. You can also buy several tickets, each valid for 20 days, in a row.

Westbahn offers youth tickets in the following versions:

Vienna – Salzburg

  • < 20: €20
  • < 26: €40

Salzburg – Munich

  • < 20: €20
  • < 26: €40

Vienna – Munich

  • < 20: €40
  • < 26: €80

According to the railway company, the tickets are valid in both directions on the selected route and entitle you to unlimited travel during the period of validity. "As with all Westbahn tickets, the SommerHit-Ticket can always be used without a reservation, even every 30 minutes between Vienna and Salzburg," says DI Thomas Posch, Managing Director of Westbahn. "In addition, there are of course West Points with every Relax Check-in with the SommerHit ticket. And if, after purchasing the ticket, plans for the summer change, it can be canceled free of charge up to the first day of validity.”
