The Czech Smartwings was able to accommodate six Boeing 737-800s as part of wet lease contracts with two Israeli airlines. Three aircraft of this type will also go to the US company Swiftair.

Israir rents a total of five Boeing 737-800s, which are operated by Smartwings, and will use them for almost the entire route network during the current winter flight schedule period 2021/2022. The competitor Arkia, also from Israel, is also relying on the services of Smartwings, because a machine of this type will fly in wet lease. A codeshare agreement was also agreed with Israir. From Tel Aviv this offers connections to Eilat, among other things.

The US-based Swiftair and Smartwings have been working together for many years. Due to the corona pandemic, the cooperation was paused, but the Americans used three Boeing 737-800s from Smartwings again this year. These will fly for Swiftair under a wet lease contract. There is no connection between the US carrier and the Spanish airline of the same name.
