The lounges operated by Flughafen Wien AG at Austria's largest airport have had a new catering partner, Donhauser, since Tuesday. Due to the corona pandemic, only the SkyLounge in Terminal 3 is currently open. Due to a government ordinance, this only offers food and drinks to take away.

For the company led by Josef Donhauser, the contract with Flughafen Wien AG is likely to be another move against its competitor Do & Co, because one was drawn some time ago Contract with Austrian Airlines on land. This means that DoN will now cook in all lounges located in the terminals of Austria's largest airport. Due to the corona pandemic, only two exclusive waiting areas in the Schengen area of Terminal 3 are currently open.

“We are very pleased that our concept with a strong focus on regionality and the tried and tested DoN freshness guarantee was able to convince in the international tender from Vienna Airport. The use of high-quality, regional ingredients with healthy preparation has long been our focus. Together with our guests, we are going on a journey through the culinary corners of Austria, which will let everyone take off in a culinary way, ”said Josef Donhauser, CEO of the DoN Group, happily about the upcoming catering partnership. Since September last year, DoN has also been serving the business lounges of the Austrian Airlines airline at Vienna Airport.

Large lounges planned in Terminal 2

There will also be visual changes for the passengers, because the staff will now appear in new uniforms. The dishes were also changed. Due to the low number of passengers at Vienna Airport due to the pandemic, passenger handling is currently carried out centrally in Terminal 3. The spacious and exclusively designed SkyLounge with 175 seats on 670 m² on the 2nd floor of Terminal 3 is currently available to all air travelers. As soon as the number of passengers allows it again, the other terminal areas will also be reactivated and a completely new, large and very exclusive lounge area will also be available in Terminal 2, which has been modernized by then, which will also be serviced by DoN. “At the moment, the number of passengers is still limited, but as vaccination progresses and the hopefully soon introduction of internationally recognized test and vaccination certificates, people will be able to travel more again. We want to offer you a perfect lounge experience and we are pleased to have DoN on board as a new catering partner, ”says Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG.
