Announced yesterday and already today, four Airbus A320s are leaving Vienna-Schwechat Airport. Three will be transferred to the Düsseldorf base and four more are to be parked at Stansted Airport.

On Monday, the management of the Austrian airline Lauda announced that the fleet currently stationed in Vienna would be flown to “cheaper airports” in the United Kingdom and Spain “in the next few days”. Some aircraft will also be transferred to the Düsseldorf and Stuttgart bases. Just one day later, seven Airbus A320s are already leaving Vienna Airport.

Three aircraft are transferred by ferry to Düsseldorf and four to London-Stansted. The airport in the United Kingdom is an extremely large base of the parent company Ryanair. Should there still be an agreement between Vida and the Chamber of Commerce, the machines will be brought back to Vienna and the base will be kept open. Otherwise, Boeing 737s from sister companies Ryanair DAC, Malta Air and Buzz will take over.
