An aviation conference was to take place on March 18, 2021 in the conference rooms at Vienna International Airport. The organizers were initially very sure that this could be carried out as a face-to-face event. However, nothing will come of it, because the legislature still does not allow any events.

The “Aviation Event” should actually have been held at Vienna International Airport last year. Due to the corona pandemic, however, this had to be canceled and postponed. The targeted alternative date, March 18, 2021, was last advertised by a magazine on the Internet, among other things, but cannot be carried out due to the event bans still valid in Austria, which were issued by ordinance by Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens).

The entry and quarantine regulations, which according to the Anchor's Regulation are valid until at least the end of March 2021, are also likely to have a negative impact on the announced speakers. Especially those whose place of residence or work is outside the EU could, in extreme cases, even be banned from entry due to the currently valid regulation. Everyone else runs the acute risk that participation in an event is not classified as a professional appointment that cannot be postponed, so that a ten-day quarantine would blossom instead of the conference.

All of the circumstances have led to the alternative date of the aviation event falling victim to the corona pandemic. The organizers announce on their homepage that a new attempt will be made in April 2021, but no specific date is given. Whether the implementation is then possible is not in the hands of the organizer, because the federal government is currently stipulating what can and cannot take place. All events are currently affected, so that the aviation event joins the long list of events made impossible by the authorities.
