The keys were handed over to the first tenants of the new Office Park 4 at Vienna International Airport on Monday. The office and conference complex has a total of 26.000 square meters and complements the previously existing business center.

The new building, which is located near the entrance, was designed by the Viennese architect Heinz Neumann. The official opening took place on Monday in the presence of Lower Austria's Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and Vienna's City Councilor for Economic Affairs, Peter Hanke. The board members Günther Ofner and Julian Jäger were there for Flughafen Wien AG.

“I am pleased that we are sending such an important signal for growth, the economy and the job market with Office Park 4 in Airport City during these challenging times. Office Park 4 offers capacity for a further 2.500 workplaces and thus creates important impulses for the entire region, ”says Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.

“Office Park 4 is an impressive sign that airport operations have never really stood still and that ideas for the future have been continued here. The new building sets new standards in terms of office infrastructure and provides growth impulses for the region around Vienna. For Vienna, Vienna Airport is the gateway to the world, an important employer and a lifeline for Vienna's economy and tourism. It is precisely these kinds of initiatives that are needed now to promote the region and further expand added value, ”says Vienna City Councilor for Economic Affairs Peter Hanke.

“With Office Park 4 we are creating a new working environment of the highest quality in the middle of Airport City Vienna. Around 2.500 employees are expected to work here. With this, Vienna Airport is setting an example for the future despite the Corona crisis. The demand for the new premises is great. The first tenants have already moved in and enjoy the superior price-performance ratio of Airport City Vienna, and many other companies are on the list of interested parties. We are setting new standards in energy efficiency, the energy consumption is less than a third compared to conventional offices, ”says Günther Ofner, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG.

“The expansion of the Airport City is a valuable addition to the core functions of the airport and, thanks to the flexible co-working offers, offers perfect work opportunities, especially for travelers. With the generous range of conferencing facilities, the location will in future be even more attractive for events of all kinds, ”explains Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG.

The first tenants have already moved into Office Park 4 and come from a wide variety of industries: These include BR International Consulting Services (specialist logistician for rail transport), the world's largest innovation platform Plug and Play from California, the international air and sea freight forwarder CH Robinson and the bilingual Kindergarten Luftikus. There is great interest in the new office building. This is also reflected in the occupancy rate of the pre-letting, which is particularly good at 40 to 50 percent despite the crisis.

Technical data for Office Park 4

Around 60.000 cubic meters of earth were excavated for the new office building. That is roughly seven times the volume of all the pools in the Vienna Stadium Pool. More than 1.500 square meters of wall formwork were used. Since Office Park 4 is heated or cooled with thermal energy, 450 energy piles were built in the ground and around 39 kilometers of geothermal lines were laid.
