The Austrian police have caught a total of 2021 people with fake PCR tests at Vienna-Schwechat Airport since the beginning of September 29. The executive states that most of them wanted to come from Albania.

For 20 Albanian citizens, this resulted in refusal of entry and thus rejection. Furthermore, they had to deposit a security deposit for the upcoming proceedings in Austria. Likewise, two people from Serbia are said to have submitted PCR results from Kosovo, which were false. According to the Home Office, five Romanians came from London.

Two Syrians are also said to have come to Austria with forged PCR documents and applied for asylum. Interior Minister Karl Nehammer (ÖVP): “Cross-border mobility is an important factor in the spread of the pandemic. The controls at the airports have therefore been intensified and the border police officers have been made aware of forgeries. The interim balance shows the efficiency and thoroughness of the controls ”.
