After more than two years of corona-related closure, Terminal 2 at Vienna-Schwechat Airport was put back into operation on Tuesday. As a result, gate areas B, C and D are once again being used by airlines. There is some news in the field of gastronomy.

The well-known traditional Viennese brand Trzesniewski is celebrating its comeback at the airport and is offering an extensive range of rolls in the departure hall of Terminal 2 from today. The enlarged Heinemann Main Duty-Free and Travel Value Shop after the security check is now also offering more Austrian products. The ceiling construction, designed in the style of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, is an eye-catcher. The Panorama Restaurant Zugvogel with a view of the airport apron, the Juice Factory and the shops of Swarovski, CAPI, Lamy and many more are also already back in operation. More news can be expected in the near future: A location for the innovative local restaurant brand Veganista/The LaLa will soon be opening in Terminal 2, and in the spring Wolfgang Puck’s first restaurant in Austria will open in the arrivals hall of Terminal 3.

"As of today, the redesigned Terminal 2 and with it the entire terminal infrastructure at the airport is back in operation. Passengers will experience new dining and shopping options and I look forward to some more exciting openings in the coming weeks. Local gastronomy is a major focus here,” explains Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG.

Trzesniewski is returning to Vienna Airport after a break of around ten years: Located in the departure hall of Terminal 2, the traditional Viennese brand Trzesniewski offers its usual range of fresh bread rolls in the publicly accessible area. Rolls and desserts can be enjoyed on the spot and taken on the trip. The branch is operated by the airport gastronomy specialist SSP The Food and Travel Experts in close cooperation with the traditional company Trzesniewski.

Heinemann Duty Free used the period of renovation in the redesigned Terminal 2 for a redesign: With golden design elements, a ceiling in the style of St. Stephen's Cathedral roof and matching materials and lights, travelers feel Viennese flair when shopping. The range offers a selection of popular classics such as Sacher cake and Mozart balls, but also Styrian pumpkin seed oil and many other regional products. The Heinemann duty-free shop in Terminal 2 was enlarged with the conversion, creating more space for local delicacies. In total, Heinemann is represented in Terminal 2 with four duty-free and travel value shops.

The shopping and restaurant area in Terminal 2 will soon offer another highlight: Austria's first combined Veganista/The LaLa Take-Away Restaurant will open by summer on more than 50m² in a pink ambience. Not only vegan, but also kosher and halal dishes are offered by the young, innovative gastronomy brand. The new restaurant fits perfectly into an international place like Vienna Airport. Hollywood feeling sets in in spring: World-renowned star chef Wolfgang Puck will soon be opening his first restaurant in Austria with a bar and take-away area of more than 3m² in the arrivals hall of Terminal 700. In the future, guests will enjoy high-quality food and drinks here with a focus on modern Mediterranean and Austrian cuisine. For decades, the Austrian Wolfgang Puck has been cooking for the stars of Oscar night in Hollywood and soon for all guests at Vienna Airport.

In the newly designed shopping and catering area in Terminal 2, passengers will also find familiar brands such as Swarovski, the electronics shop CAPI, the writing instrument manufacturer Lamy, the convenience shop and freshly squeezed juices and snacks from Juice Factory.
