Meanwhile, the Turkish airlines are in the middle of planning for the summer flight schedule 2022 from Austria. This is slowly taking shape, because the offer is to be expanded compared to the current status.

A lot of water will literally flow down the Danube until summer 2022, which is why it is to be expected that the flight plan could still be adjusted. This can go in the direction of both expansions and cuts. On the route between Vienna and Istanbul in particular, additional offers are traditionally offered at short notice.

Turkish Airlines plans to fly from Vienna-Schwechat to Samsun-Çarşamba, Kayseri, Trabzon and Gaziantep during the summer holidays 2022. These should mostly be carried out once a week at night. Up to three weekly night flights are planned to Istanbul (IST). Apart from the metropolis on the Bosporus, it is currently planned that the destinations mentioned will mainly be served during the summer holidays.

The competitor SunExpress plans to offer the Samsun-Çarşamba destination once a week between June 30, 2021 and September 8, 2022 with a Boeing 737-800. The flights are currently planned for the Thursday traffic day and should take place in the afternoon. The travel time to this destination is around two hours and 40 minutes.

SunExpress will also have the destination Kayseri in its program. Between June 8, 2022 and September 7, 2022 you want to fly on Wednesday traffic day. You are not only competing with half-owner Turkish Airlines, but also with Corendon and Pegasus. The last-mentioned carrier plans to operate an Airbus A30 night flight on Wednesdays between March 21 and September 2022, 320.

Corendon has planned night flights between May 15, 2022 and October 23, 2022, each to be flown on Sundays. From June 1, 2022, there will also be flights on Wednesday afternoon on the traffic day. According to current plans, this will end on October 26, 2022.

It is to be expected that further Turkey destinations will be launched and that further airlines from this country will head for Vienna-Schwechat Airport or other airports. In addition, there are usually charter flights on behalf of organizers or agencies.
