The low-cost airline Wizz Air will not be offering the destination Catania from Vienna-Schwechat in the upcoming 2022/23 winter timetable period. In the past, this destination was offered all year round, apart from corona-related breaks.

However, the non-stop connection between Vienna and Sicily will not be discontinued. Wizz Air intends to reactivate the route at the beginning of the 2023 summer flight schedule period. As a result, according to the current state of affairs, the last flight before the "winter break" will take place between October 25, 2022. The resumption is announced for March 27, 2023.

The situation is similar with the Albanian destination Kukes. This was originally announced as a year-round route, but Wizz Air will not serve it in the 2022/23 winter flight schedule. The last flight for the time being is scheduled for October 27, 2022. The resumption is scheduled for March 30, 2023. The frequencies on both routes are to remain unchanged in the 2022/23 summer timetable.
