Vienna: Wizz Air with 43 destinations in the winter flight schedule 2021/22

The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has completed the conversion of the fleet stationed in Vienna to the Airbus A321neo machine type. There are currently five aircraft stationed in the Austrian capital.

A sixth Airbus A321neo is to be stationed at Austria's largest airport from July 2022. “Wizz Air endeavors to keep its fleet up to date with the latest technology and to continuously increase its efficiency. We look forward to converting the local fleet into a pure A321neo fleet today and continuing our development as a sustainable, high-tech airline. With the new type of aircraft, which causes up to 50 percent fewer emissions and uses up to 20 percent less fuel, we will be able to operate even more efficiently in the future, ”explains company spokesman András Rado.

In the current winter timetable period 2021/22, there are 43 destinations in 27 countries from Vienna-Schwechat. The destinations of Amman and Akaba as well as Sharm El-Sheikh and Marrakech are new. In the coming year, the group wants to expand the group-wide fleet to 500 Airbus planes. For the Vienna location, too, we are looking for additional pilots, especially with the typification for the A320 family, and for reinforcement for the cabin crew.
