The Austrian Eurowings Europe will open a new base at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport in March 2022. The search for pilots and flight attendants is already in progress for the initially five medium-haul Airbus A320 jets.

Taking into account the new base in Sweden, the Eurowings Group will then operate a total of eleven bases. Those in Palma de Mallorca, Prague, Pristina, Salzburg and in future in Stockholm-Arlanda are operated by the Austrian branch. Within Germany, the number of AOCs was reduced to Eurowings Germany.

150 jobs have now been advertised for Sweden. There are around 50 jobs in the cockpit and 100 in the cabin. Starting in March, crews from Eurowings Europe from Vienna will initially be deployed from Stockholm to set up the base and start flight operations. In the medium term, however, the flights are to be carried out entirely by locally stationed crews. According to internal regulations, crew members who are already flying for Eurowings Europe have a preferential right to move to the Scandinavian metropolis.

“We are delighted to be driving pan-European growth in Northern Europe shortly after opening our base in Prague. With the creation of local jobs, I am pleased to be able to welcome more colleagues to the team. In particular, I would like to encourage internal colleagues to make a change so that we can carry our Eurowings DNA into the new base as an innovative and customer-oriented team from the start, ”explains Eurowings Europe Managing Director Robert Jahn.
