The news ranges from the witch festival to the most spectacular sky race in Austria to new, environmentally friendly mobility offers.

Everything is new in May! This also applies to the Wilder Kaiser region with its four towns of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll. In each of the Kaiser locations there is a lot to experience in summer - an overview of a few highlights and innovations.

Söll

Evening summer mountain railway

Guests in the Wilder Kaiser region have long appreciated the fact that the cable cars in the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental do not only run in winter but also in summer, making the mountains accessible to everyone. As is well known, the largest night ski area in Austria is located in Kaiser-Ort Söll - no wonder that this year there will be night-time mountain railway operation for the first time in summer! Namely Thursday 14.7., 21.7., 4.8., 11.8., 18.8., 25.8. and 1.9., always from 18.30 p.m. to 22.30 p.m. – only in good weather! There is not only night hikes to experience, but also witch fires and much more...

"Hextacle" on 18.-19. May in Hexenwasser

Hard to believe: The Hexenwasser mountain adventure world in Söll is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! It goes without saying that the witches let it rip on this occasion. On June 18th and 19th the big “Hextakel” will take place. For two days, there will be fire shows, live music, witch dance, witch flight school and much more. At the same time, the new “Witchery” will be inaugurated.

Scheffau

Imperial Crown Trail

The trail running season has long since opened on the Wilder Kaiser, and the first competition is just around the corner in the Kaiser town of Scheffau! From 24.-25. From June 2022, the Kaiserkrone Trail will take place there, over the peaks and around the Wilder Kaiser. Five different competitions offer the perfect challenge for every running level. Which one is the right one can be read on the Wilder Kaiser Blog, as well as what the top athletes had to say about the past edition of the Kaiserkrone, for example about the "most spectacular Skyrace in Austria".

Ellmau

VVT REGIORAD powered by Ellmau

If you want to reduce traffic in the towns, you have to offer your guests a simple and practical way of getting from A to B. In the Kaiser town of Ellmau, 20 new "Regio bikes" are now available - making Ellmau the first small community to offer such a service alongside the two cities of Kufstein and Innsbruck. Bikes can be hired at three locations in Ellmau (mountain railway, tourist office in the town center and Kaiserbad). Above all, they should be used to cover paths in the village that are just too far for a walk by bike instead of by car. For holders of a Wilder Kaiser guest, staff or citizen card, the first half hour of use is free, the second half hour costs 2 euros and then you pay 3 euros for every full hour and a maximum of 9 euros for 24 hours.

Bergdoktor practice open on four days

Want to see Bergdoktor Martin Gruber's surgeries with your own eyes? No problem! From May 17.5.2022, 09, the original film set can be viewed on four instead of two days a week. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 30:12 a.m. to 00:XNUMX p.m. After shooting there all summer, there may be changes to the opening times - you can always find out about this on the website.

Hotel of the year 2022 in Ellmau

The Kaiser town of Ellmau is also very pleased to be home to the Kaiserhof, Austria's "Hotel of the Year 2022"! The Wilder Kaiser Tourist Association heartily congratulates the Lampert family and the entire hotel team on the well-deserved award!

Going

Culinary pleasure hike

Experiencing culinary delights in the Wilder Kaiser region is very easy, because there are numerous restaurants, inns, court ladies, ice cream shops, coffee shops and much more to experience pure enjoyment throughout the region. If you not only want to taste the delicacies, but also want to learn more about the producers and their philosophy on a culinary foray through the region, then the culinary pleasure hike in Going and Ellmau is the right place for you: Every Tuesday at 10.00 a.m., hiking guide Petra takes you to regional producers - Samples included, of course.
