The Lufthansa subsidiary Swiss plans in the winter flight schedule 2020/21 with 30 percent of the usual capacity. Originally it was assumed that by December 2020 it would be possible to start up again due to 50 percent. However, due to recent travel and quarantine restrictions, this goal had to be discarded.

Swiss is currently assuming that normality will return to normal in 2024 at the earliest. The company explained this to them TravelInside. Furthermore, Swiss manager Trestl puts the number of no-shows at the height of the lockdown at 80 percent. The rate is currently 20 percent. Normal would be less than one percent at Swiss. The Swiss network planner also stated that the lifting of the quarantine requirement does not necessarily lead to a sharp increase in new bookings. He cites the Belgrade-Zurich route as an example. The carrier is currently no longer carrying around 100.000 passengers per day, but at most a few thousand.
