Low-cost carrier Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will start non-stop flights to Kuwait City and the Maldives in October 2022. These are to be served several times a week with Airbus A321neo.

The Maldives connection is to be flown from the capital of the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from October 4, 2022. You are heading to Male Airport. The carrier emphasizes that this is a year-round route. Officially, Wizz Air does not offer any connecting flights, but they seem to be hoping that passengers will travel to Abu Dhabi on their own and change flights there. At least that's what this passage in the low-cost airline's statement suggests: "Wizz Air's new routes offer affordable travel options for those living within the United Arab Emirates and for passengers flying from Central and Eastern Europe via the Wizz Air network arrive and yearn to discover what the islands have to offer".

The Kuwait route is scheduled to start from Abu Dhabi on October 30, 2022. The low-cost airline is currently planning to serve this short-haul route every day. “We are delighted to announce two new Wizz Air Abu Dhabi routes, reaffirming our commitment to supporting the UAE's travel and tourism industry by connecting the capital to many popular holiday destinations in the region but also globally. With the arrival of our fifth Airbus aircraft in October, we are pleased to enhance connections to our neighboring countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council with flights to Kuwait and to offer our customers cheap flights to the Maldives. We are particularly pleased to be adding flights to the Maldives, a tropical paradise that is high on travelers' wish lists. The WIZZ team is excited to soon welcome customers aboard our young and green aircraft,” said Wizz Air Manager David Jones.
