Wizz Air expands its service at Cologne/Bonn Airport with Skopje

The airline Wizz Air will operate its route network on Cologne/Bonn Airport with a new connection to Skopje The first flight to the capital of North Macedonia will take place on December 15, 2025. The route will be served four times a week, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Wizz Air is thus strengthening its position in Eastern European air traffic to and from Germany.

The new route is the second addition to the airline's upcoming winter flight schedule at Cologne/Bonn Airport. Starting October 26, 2025, Wizz Air will also operate four flights per week to Bucharest in Romania. The new connections underscore the airline's return and expansion at the German airport, having previously operated there. Cenk Özöztürk, Managing Director of Flughafen Köln/Bonn GmbH, welcomed the decision and spoke of discussions about further possible new routes.

Skopje is considered a city that combines history, culture, and modernity. With sights such as the historic stone bridge over the Vardar River and the Kale Fortress, the city offers a variety of cultural attractions. At the same time, it serves as a starting point for nature excursions, such as the nearby Matka Canyon. The flight time from Cologne/Bonn to Skopje is approximately two and a half hours.

The new route will feature machines of the type Airbus A321neo These aircraft are known for their efficiency. The connection to Skopje has been available for booking since today, August 7th. Wizz Air's strategy of increasing its focus on connections between Western and Eastern Europe is further solidified by the new routes from Cologne/Bonn. The company is focusing on growth in the region.
