The airline Wizz Air wants to cancel air traffic to Chisinau in the future. This is justified with the concerns of a Russian attack that could involve the Moldovan capital.

From March 14, no flights will be operated to the Moldovan capital Chisinau. The airline informed those affected on Monday. Moldova, as the affected state, is trying to counteract this cancellation with all means by trying to guarantee the protection of its airspace.

Concerns of a Russian attack are heightened by the occupation of Russian soldiers in Moldova's Transnistria separating territory. Russia accuses the Ukrainians of planning an attack on these troops. In any case, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy denies the accusations and confirms the fact that these statements are untrue. "We respect Moldova's sovereignty," said Zelenkysj.

For the Moldovan and Ukrainian population, Wizz Air in Chisinau is canceled for the time being. However, he plans to offer more flights from the Romanian Iasi instead. However, some routes will be paused without replacement.
