Wizz Air has launched a carbon offsetting program as part of its commitment to reducing emissions. This enables passengers to calculate the environmental impact of their flight and offset the carbon emissions.

By entering the flight details in the Travel footprint calculator passengers can calculate and offset the carbon emissions of their flight. To offset their carbon emissions, passengers can make a payment to support a verified offsetting project and in return receive a certificate confirming the offset emissions, the company said. To do this, the carrier works closely with the technology company CHOOOSE.

“We strive to be the greenest airline by working hard to continuously reduce our environmental footprint. Through a variety of sustainability initiatives, we are proud to already have one of the lowest emissions rates in the European aviation industry and are pleased to be working with CHOOOSE to provide carbon offsetting for our passengers. Together with our modern aircraft fleet, a variety of fuel-saving initiatives, maximizing the load factor, a network design that avoids unnecessary connecting flights and the lightest materials used in the cabin, we ensure that Wizz Air is the best and most environmentally friendly choice that passengers can meet ”, so Marion Geoffroy, Chief Corporate Officer at Wizz Air
