Wizz AIr actually wanted to bundle its presence in the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dahbi. A local branch was founded for this purpose, but some routes are now being relocated to the neighboring emirate of Dubai.

According to a spokesman, it should only be a temporary measure, because Abu Dhabi practices much stricter entry rules than nearby Dubai. Only flights operated by Wizz Air Hungary are affected. Those from Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will continue to use the capital's airport.

In the past, Wizz Air used Dubai-World Central Airport. All connections offered from this airport have been moved to Abu Dhabi. Now the flights from Bucharest, Budapest, Catania, Cluj, Kattowitz and Sofia will take off and land in Dubai-International instead of Abu Dhabi at least until the end of 2021.

It is hoped that the entry regulations will be relaxed and then want to return to the capital of the United Arab Emirates. As already mentioned: Connections served by Wizz Air Abu Dhabi are not affected by the temporary measure.
