Wizz Air Abu Dhabi landed at Athens Airport for the first time on Friday. This was also the premiere flight, which had to be postponed several times due to the corona pandemic. The young airline is a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi Holding ADQ and Wizz Air Holdings plc. The Hungarian sister company will in future fly from Dubai International (DXB) and turn its back on Dubai World Central (DWC).

Wizz Air Hungary is initially using four Airbus A321neo and is gradually expanding the route network. The destination Thessaloniki is scheduled to start on February 4, 2021. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi plans to fly to Tel Aviv from February 12, 2021.

In the meantime, however, the group changed its UAE strategy, because originally it was planned to relocate the offer, which was carried out from Dubai World Central (DWC), completely to Abu Dhabi. Wizz Air Hungary now offers three destinations from Dubai International (DXB).
