The low-cost airline Wizz Air has been flying to the capital of the Republic of Moldova again from Dortmund since the middle of this week. This route has been paused since the start of the Russian Federation Army's invasion of Ukraine.

In February 2022, the government of the Republic of Moldova reacted with a temporary flight ban. It was feared that there could be dangers for civil air traffic. The ban has since been lifted.

Wizz Air offers the destination Chisinau from Germany at the following airports: Berlin, Dortmund, Hamburg and Memmingen. Depending on the airport, the frequencies vary between two and four rotations per week.

From Austria, Wizz Air is again offering two weekly Chisinau rotations from Vienna-Schwechat Airport. These are carried out on the traffic days Tuesday and Saturday. In Switzerland you have Basel in your portfolio. However, the low-cost airline does not formally fly to Switzerland, but to Mulhouse in France. These flights are operated on Thursdays and Sundays.
