Low-cost airline Wizz Air is once again offering free air tickets to people fleeing Ukraine because of the war. This time the company is giving away 10.000 tickets to the UK.

In cooperation with several charities, Ukrainian refugees are being supported with 10.000 free tickets to enter the UK from Ukraine's neighboring countries under the UK government's Homes for Ukraine visa scheme. The initiative kicks off this weekend for travel from May 14th to June 15th. The UK government has issued over 95.000 visas to Ukrainians as part of its visa scheme. Over 37.000 have already arrived in the UK.

The Wizz Air free tickets are available on a total of 61 routes operated by the airline from Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia to the UK. "We hope that this initiative will help many Ukrainians reach a safe place in the UK soon," explains József Váradi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air. "We have already made major humanitarian efforts on the ground with our employees." As reported , the airline told Ukraine refugees weeks ago 100.000 free seats on all flights within continental Europe from the Ukrainian neighboring countries of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.
