Fewer travel restrictions and more flights: Wizz Air is pedaling hard. Because after the entry regulations have been relaxed in a number of countries, the airline is reactivating more and more routes. The route network to and from Germany will be continuously expanded to include additional connections over the next few days.

It starts with a real premiere: From May 20, it will be the first time from Dortmund and Memmingen to Sarajevo. The former Olympic city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which hosted the 1984 Winter Games, is on the flight plans of the two airports several times a week. It is particularly destinations in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary that are now being revived. 

“We flew as many routes as possible during the pandemic months,” explains press spokesman Andras Rados. "But now there is a new impetus." Because when you return to these countries and to Germany, not only those who have been vaccinated and who have recovered but also those who have a negative antigen or PCR test do not have to be in quarantine. "That is basically every passenger," says Rados, "because you can't get on board without a test or certification."

In addition, there are several non-stop flights a week from nine German airports to Varna on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, the internationally known seaside resort. If you like it cooler, you can leave Dortmund for Iceland from June 15th. Twice a week it goes non-stop to Keflavik Airport, just outside the Icelandic capital Reykjavik. The Italian cities of Bari and Catania as well as Larnaka on Cyprus should soon be accessible again with the low-coster from several German airports.

Wizz Air flies in Germany from Cologne, Dortmund, Frankfurt Hahn, Hamburg, Memmingen, Nuremberg, Friedrichshafen, Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden, Berlin, Hanover and Bremen.
