Wizz Air slipped deeper into the red

Advertising

In the 2021/22 financial year that ended at the end of March, the Wizz Air Group was able to increase sales by 125 percent to EUR 1,663 billion. The bottom line was that you were deep in the red, because the net loss grew by 12 percent to 642,5 million euros.

Although the group of companies was able to increase the Ebitda by 89 percent to 465,3 million euros and thus also reduce the operating loss by 12 percent to 465,3 million euros, the bottom line was that the net loss increased to 642,5 million euros. This is justified, among other things, by the fact that fuel costs are rising sharply.

During the current financial year, they want to be back in the air with the capacity they had before the pandemic. Depending on the market development, this should even be exceeded. CEO Jozsef Varadi is confident that it will be possible to have the full flight program and fully utilized machines.
