The Hungarian low-cost airline is currently looking for flight attendants for the Vienna base. The company explains, among other things, that it is anticipating an “intensive summer travel” and therefore “additional cabin crew is required for the Vienna base”.

The company is silent about the exact background, but for a long time the flight attendants only received their basic salary. This is extremely low as most of the pay comes from the sectors actually flown. Since there was very little flown from Vienna during the lockdowns, many received only the basic wage. Since the sum those mentioned in the Aviation Direct article is, was very low and was not enough for many front and rear to survive, some Wizz Air flight attendants from the Vienna base may have left the company. There is no other explanation for the fact that new employees are now being sought, because the carrier still flies to a reduced extent from the Austrian capital and has only recently thinned out some routes again or postponed the resumption significantly.
