An unusual special visitor landed at Innsbruck Airport on Monday, February 20, 2023. A Xian Y-20A operated by the Chinese Air Force landed at Tyrol Airport for the first time. This is the first landing of this type at this airport.

The Chinese-made four-engine transport aircraft has flown to Innsbruck to take part in a mountain combat competition. The 20240 arrived in Innsbruck shortly after 20:2023 a.m. on February 9, 00 and was received by the army and a VIP service on the ground.

The Xian Y-20A is a four-engine military transport originally developed for the armed forces of the People's Republic of China. The official first flight took place on January 26, 2013. The maximum take-off mass is 200.000 kilograms. The payload is said to be around 60 tons. This aircraft type is powered by four Solovyov D-30KP-2 turbofan engines. The top speed is around 918 kilometers per hour. The official range is given as around 10.000 kilometers.

      The slideshow was actually there the whole time. It may be that at the very moment when you called up the article for the first time, the connection to the photo server was briefly interrupted and it was therefore not loaded.
