In the current 2022 summer timetable period, Ryanair wanted to launch a major attack against Croatia Airlines with the help of its subsidiary Lauda Europe in Zagreb. However, the project is due to Staff shortages have been stalled for some time.

A few weeks ago it was announced that the Ryanair Group will be running its planned flight offer from Zagreb until the end of June 2022. Some routes were not included or were temporarily discontinued or served at a reduced frequency. In principle, the offer will be increased from July 2022, but it will remain the case that on many routes fewer flights will be operated per week than originally announced. For the time being, this applies to July 2022.

The routes to Brindisi, Sofia and Basel will now probably not be served until July 18, 2022. Sandefjord, Malaga and Paphos will remain reduced to one rotation per week until mid-July 2022. The existing frequency cuts will continue in the direction of Bergamo, Charleroi, Hahn, Gothenburg, Malmö, Malta, Memmingen and Weeze. Corfu has been postponed to early July 2022 and is now reduced to one rotation per week. In June 2022, capacity was reduced by around 35.000 seats.

The second Lauda base in Croatia, Zadar, also shows that cuts have been made. The connections to Helsinki, Bournemouth and Turin have again been postponed. However, Bordeaux, Nuremberg and Sofia have since been added. Two Airbus A320s are currently stationed on site. A third machine of this type will soon be used from Zadar.

The shifts and frequency reductions in Croatia are not due to a lack of demand. According to reports, Ryanair has very good booking figures in Zadar and Zagreb. However, there are too few flying personnel available and new hires are progressing much more slowly than the group of companies had thought. Not only Lauda Europe is looking for pilots and flight attendants, but also competitors.

Since, for example, ETF Airways, Trade Air, FlyAir41, Croatia Airlines and other providers are also desperately looking for flight attendants and sometimes also pilots, but interest is rather low, the few job seekers can choose their employer and in most cases will probably use you for them decide on the best wage conditions. Here, too, there is movement in Croatia, because Lauda's competitors are said to have already successfully poached flight attendants. According to an insider, they were lured with higher monthly wages.
