For many travelers, their vacation ends at the check-in counter. This phenomenon has been particularly evident recently at Zurich Airport.

Before boarding, airlines check the necessary travel documents for accuracy and completeness. If these obligations are not fulfilled, horrific penalties are the result - therefore the employees take a particularly careful look. In June, 700 passengers were taken out of service in Zurich in this way. Last month, 5 to 10 percent of long-haul travelers were unable to board their flight. In the case of short-haul flights, it was 1 to 2 percent.

Most of the time, the Covid certificates are not available, have expired or are not written in English, as the Schweizer Handelszeitung reports. However, there are also problems if the certificates do not contain all the required information, such as the passport number or the full name, which must be written in the same way as in the passport or on the ID.
