In September 2022, exactly 2.322.882 passengers flew via Zurich Airport. This corresponds to an increase of 68 percent compared to the same period last year. Compared to September 2019, the number of passengers in the reporting month is 80 percent.

The number of local passengers in September 2022 was 1.639.601. The proportion of transfer passengers was 29 percent, which would correspond to 677.906 passengers, according to the airport in a press release. The number of flight movements rose by 29 percent to 20.724 take-offs or landings compared to the same month last year. The monthly comparison shows that flight movements are 85 percent of the 2019 level. At 134 passengers, the average number of passengers per flight was 15 percent higher than in the previous year. Seat occupancy also increased by 11 percentage points to 82 percent compared to the same month last year.
