As various media have reported, the minimum intervals on the weekend of Pentecost could not be observed, at least in phases. The reason: every passenger has to be tested, recovered or vaccinated upon arrival - and have to prove it. There were queues at the controls when several planes landed at the same time.
But now the Ministry of Health is reacting and promptly completing the legal basis. Accordingly, from now on, the competent authority may only carry out random checks if such crowds occur.
To this end, the authority receives a weekly updated list of nations that are classified as risk countries, according to the ORF. This is currently affecting India, for example. Passengers from high-risk countries still have to be fully screened - but random checks are now sufficient for countries that are not on the list.
