The leisure airline Chair Airlines will phase out the Airbus A319 with the registration HB-JOG. The leased aircraft is owned by the German "Air Finkenwerder" Flugzeugfonds GmbH & Co. KG, which has commissioned an intermediary to find a new lessee or buyer. In return, another Airbus A320 will be leased.

The affected medium-haul jet has the serial number 3818 and has been in commercial service since 2009. Originally, this Airbus A319 flew as D-AHIM for Hamburg International, then for Germania before moving to Swiss Germania Flug, the predecessor of Chair Airlines, in 2015. Since then this machine flies as HB-JOG. In the wake of the bankruptcy of the Germania group, the Swiss branch was sold and given its current name Chair Airlines.

This A319 is owned by the German company “Air Finkenwerder” Flugzeugfonds GmbH & Co. KG. This has now commissioned the AMS Aircraft Services Limited with the remarketing of the HB-JOG. A new lessee is being sought. Alternatively, the medium-haul jet can also be purchased. AMS states that today's HB-JOG will be available from March 2023. In concrete terms, this means that Chair Airlines will use the machine until then and then return it to the owner.

In return, the Swiss carrier will lease another Airbus A320. It is the machine with the serial number 4391. This has already received the livery from Chair Airlines. The aircraft was formerly known as HZ-AS35 for Saudia. This medium-haul jet entered scheduled service for the first time in 2010 and is owned by the lessor Merx Aviation.
