The Swiss holiday airline Edelweiss has announced the resumption of the long-haul destinations Havana and San José. From December 2020, these are to be served once a week from Zurich. This increases the number of long haul destinations to seven.

The carrier also announced that there is currently increased demand towards the Maldives and the Dominican Republic. That is why the frequencies will be increased from the end of December: There will be two flights a week to Malé and three times to Punta Cana.

Edelweiss also currently flies long-haul flights from Zurich directly to Mahé (Seychelles), Cancún (Mexico) and Cape Town (South Africa). On the short and medium-haul routes, Hurghada, Marsa Alam and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt are served. The offer on the Canary Islands includes Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. Edelweiss offers further seasonal connections over the holidays to Catania, Lamezia, Ibiza, Antalya and Split.
