The Swiss holiday airline Edelweiss Air intends to fly from Zurich to Cape Town once a week from November 25, 2020. The mutual entry restrictions were lifted on October 19, 2020. Swiss citizens no longer have to be in quarantine when they return.

"We are delighted that we can offer varied and carefree holidays to the holiday destination Cape Town not only for all sports enthusiasts and nature lovers, but also for wine lovers and gourmets," said Patrick Heymann, Chief Commercial Officer at Edelweiss. Other long-haul destinations that are being offered again by the Swiss sister company are Punta Cana, Mahé, Malé and Cancún. Edelweiss will initially fly to Cape Town once a week.
