Despite the strong decline in passengers due to the corona pandemic, Zurich-Kloten Airport was once again able to win the ASQ award for “Europe's best airport” in the category between 25 and 40 million passengers.

The ASQ Award is presented annually by the Airports Council International (ACI) World, the international umbrella association of airport operators. The award recognizes airports around the world that their own passengers believe provide the best customer experience. The questioning of the passengers takes place shortly before boarding.

The questionnaire contains 34 different categories such as check-in, security control and catering options. The survey shows that passengers at Zurich Airport particularly appreciate the good transport links, the ambience and the cleanliness. It is the fifth time after 2006, 2008, 2018 and 2019 that Zurich Airport has taken first place in an ASQ Award.

“I am very pleased that, despite this exceptional year and the extremely difficult and stressful conditions, we can receive the award as the best airport in Europe of our size. We also had to reduce the offer, but the evaluation shows us that we focus on getting the right services and that passengers appreciate our work. This appreciation is also due to our 280 partner companies and all employees here at the airport, at the front and in the background, ”explains Stephan Widrig, CEO of Flughafen Zürich AG.
