In September 2020, 536.406 travelers used Zurich-Kloten Airport. This was 81,4 percent below the previous year's figure. The number of local passengers fell by 77,8 percent to 457.263 passengers. The proportion of those who switched went down by 14,5 percentage points to 14,1 percent.

Zurich had 90,9 percent fewer transfer passengers and counted 75.114 travelers who changed aircraft in Kloten. The number of flight movements fell compared to the same month last year by 60,6 percent to 9.606 take-offs or landings. The average number of passengers per flight was 82, 38,7 percent below the previous year's level. The load factor fell by 31,3 percentage points to 50 percent. The freight volume fell by 36,5 percent to 23.117 tons.
