In the 2022/23 winter flight schedule, Swiss will deploy six Airbus A220-300s operated by Air Baltic on the European route network. The local unions are not happy with this deal and are up in arms about it. Now the first routes on which the Latvians will fly for the Lufthansa subsidiary are known.

Currently, Air Baltic is, among other things, for Eurowings, Eurowings Discover and SAS in ACMI deployment. At the same time, spare parts for the A220-300 machine type are in short supply, so that this leads to the curious fact that several wet-lease aircraft are used in the company's own route network. For example fly Cyprus Airways and Carpatair for the aviation company based in Riga, Latvia.

For Swiss you will be from October 30, 2022 operate up to six A220-300n. Against protest several Swiss trade unions. The first routes on which Air Baltic aircraft will be used emerge from available flight plan data. These are the routes listed below from Zurich-Kloten:

  • Brussels
  • Belgrade
  • Bucharest
  • Copenhagen
  • Düsseldorf
  • Frankfurt
  • Hamburg
  • Oslo
  • Prague
  • Paris-Charles de Gaulle
  • Rome Fiumicino
  • Tallinn
  • Warsaw Chopin
