The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air is building another base at Rome-Fiumicino Airport. It is the fifth base in Italy. At the same time, the carrier announces the addition of 32 new routes.
Wizz Air serves both airports in Rome. Both Ciampino and Fiumicino are also offered from Vienna and are in tough competition with Ryanair, because this provider also offers both Rome airports from the Austrian capital. It is therefore not surprising that Wizz Air has not announced any new Austria routes from FCO.
The Hungarian low-cost airline will initially station four Airbus A321neo in Fiumicino. These are to be used to fly to 32 destinations in 19 countries. The table below shows an overview of the announced new additions.
